The University College aims at becoming a world class institution of higher learning. A. ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS:
1. PRINCIPAL SCALE 17 REF. KIBUCO/AD.01/12/12 (1 POST)
Responsibilities
1. Reporting to the Chairman of the University Council, the successful candidate will be responsible
for both the administrative and academic operations of the University College.
2. As the administrative and academic head of the University College, the Principal has the following
responsibilities:-
• Ensuring the attainment of the University College vision and mission through the
implementation of the Strategic Plan.
• Advising the University College Council on development needs including student facilities,
infrastructure and human capital.
• Ensuring the preparation of annual plans and estimates.
• Overseeing financial management of the University including budgeting, procurement, and
accounts and reporting.
• Coordinating the University’s performance management and feedback processes based on
set targets.
• Mobilizing resources to meet the needs of the University College.
• Coordinating all programs of the University College including research, outreach and
linkages/partnerships with industry and society as a whole.
• Facilitating and sustaining linkages with other institutions both local and international.
• Coordinating the development of and sustaining standards and benchmarks.
• Providing the requisite leadership to ensure that the University College attains
competitiveness in all its programs.
• Carrying out any other functions that may contribute to the welfare of the institution
Requirements
1. Applicants should be full Professors or Associate Professors with PhD or Doctorate degree in the
area of specialization and in addition must have a minimum of ten (10) years experience in a
Senior Administrative Management position in a University or an institution of higher learning.
2. Must have teaching and research experience evidenced through extensive publications, supervision
of Masters and Doctoral students.
3. Must be eminent scholars with international recognition through fellowships, joint research
programs, grants, staff and student exchange.
4. Must have experience in resource mobilization and institutional management.
5. Must have proven leadership skills in management of staff and students.
6. Must have proven skills in the application of ICT in education and research.
7. Have good knowledge of best practices in human capital management and development, strategic
planning and change management.
8. Have good organizational, interpersonal and communications skills, highest ethical standards,
integrity and professionalism.
9. Be registered with and be active members of professional associations in their areas of
specialization.
10. Show good understanding and commitment to University education coupled with a passion for
promotion of learning, excellence in teaching, research and innovation with the highest ethical
standards, integrity and professionalism.
11. Have good understanding of the national policies and strategies governing university education and
training in Kenya.
12. Have a broad awareness of the factors and conditions shaping the development of higher
education in the country.
13. Must be familiar with education and development policies of Government of Kenya and be aware of
trends in higher education worldwide.
2. DEPUTY PRINCIPAL (ACADEMIC AFFAIRS, RESEARCH & EXTENSION) SCALE 16 REF.
KIBUCO/AD.02/12/12 (1 POST)
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for the academic, research and
extension division of the University College and will have the following responsibilities:-
• Providing leadership in pursuit of the mission and vision as outlined in the Strategic Plan.
• Promoting scholarship and transfer of skills.
• Co-ordinating academic collaborations, research and extension with other institutions of higher
learning both local and international.
• Managing students’ and academic staff affairs.
• Preparing and implementing courses and examinations.
• Managing and co-ordinating research and post-graduate studies.
• Initiating programs in research, scholarships, student and staff exchange.
• Mobilizing resources for the furtherance of the academic ideals of the University College.
• Initiating, co-ordinating, implementing, monitoring and evaluating both the University College
strategic plan and the Divisional plans.
• Carrying out other academic, Research and Extension functions that contribute to the welfare of
the institution and the community.
Requirements.
Applicants must:
1. Be full professors or Associate Professors with PhD or Doctorate degree in the area of specialization
with experience of at least eight (8) years at a senior administrative and management level in a
University or an equivalent institution of higher learning.
2. Have experience in managing and executing tasks and duties relating to students, academic staff,
research and extension in a University or an equivalent institution of higher learning.
3. Have experience in teaching and research in a University or an equivalent institution of higher
learning and must have published widely.
4. Be an eminent scholar with local and international recognition through fellowships, joint research
programs, grants, staff and student exchange.
5. Have proven skills in the application of ICT in education and research.
6. Have good organizational, interpersonal and communications skills, highest ethical standards,
integrity and professionalism.

3. DEPUTY PRINCIPAL (PLANNING, ADMINISTRATION & FINANCE) SCALE 16 REF.
KIBUCO/AD.03/12/12 (1 POST)
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Principal. The successful candidate will be responsible for both the administrative and
financial operations of the University, and will have the following responsibilities:-
• Providing leadership in pursuit of the mission and vision as outlined in the Strategic Plan.
• Determining and advising the University College Council on development needs with respect to
students, facilities, infrastructure and human capital requirements.
• Co-ordinating budget preparation and ensuring that both medium term and annual expenditures
are consistent with the Strategic Plan and scheduled timelines.
• Managing operations of procurement, finance and accounts department and income generating centers within the University College.

• Co-ordinate the development and implementation of the administrative policies of the University
College in line with the master plan and strategic plan.
• Co-ordinating the division’s performance, management and feedback processes based on set
targets.
• Mobilizing of resources that the University College may need to execute its mission.
• Initiating, co-ordinating, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the Strategic Plan.
• Carrying out other finance and administrative functions that may contribute to the welfare of the
institution.
Requirements:
Applicants must:
1. Be Professor or Associate Professors with PhD or Doctorate degree in the area of specialization

Terms and Conditions of Service
• Successful candidates for the above three (3) positions will be offered a competitive remuneration
in accordance with the University College Terms and Conditions of Service for Principal and Deputy
Principal.
• The appointment will be for a Contract period three (3) years renewable once depending on a
satisfactory performance appraisal and mutual agreement by the University College Council.

4. DEPUTY FINANCE OFFICER SCALE 14 – KIBUCO/AD.04/12/12 (1 POST)
Applicants must have Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics and CPA Part III with 12 years
working experience 3 of which as Senior Accountant Grade 13 or its equivalent. They should be registered
by a recognized professional body and be ICT Competent.
5. GAMES & SPORTS OFFICER SCALE 12 – KIBUCO/AD.05/12/12 (1 POST)
Applicants to the position should be holders of a Masters Degree in Physical Education, Sports Medicine or
Sports Science with 6 years working experience 3 of which as Senior Assistant Games & Sports Officer Scale
11 or its equivalent. OR Bachelor Degree in Physical Education, Sports Medicine or Sports Science with 12

Applicants should have Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling or
Psychiatry with 6 years working experience 3 of which as Senior Assistant Students Counselor Scale 11 or its
equivalent OR Bachelors Degree or its equivalent in Counseling Psychology, Psychology, Guidance and
Counseling or Psychiatry with 12 years working experience 3 of which as Senior Assistant Students
Counselor Scale 11 or its equivalent. They must be registered with relevant professional body and be ICT

7. SENIOR TECHNICIAN II SCALE 9 – KIBUCO/AD.07/12/12 (2 POSTS)
Applicants should have Bachelors Degree and Diploma in relevant area with three (3) years working
experience as Senior Technician Scale 8 or its equivalent OR Higher National Diploma in relevant area with
six (6) years working experience three (3) of which as Senior Technician Scale 8 or its equivalent OR
Diploma in relevant area with twelve (12) years working experience three 93) of which as Senior Technician

Applicants must have Higher National Diploma in Health Records Management from a recognized institution
OR Diploma in Health Records Management from a recognized institution OR Certificate in Health Records
Management from a recognized institution with 3 years post qualification working experience. They must be

experience as Procurement/Supplies Assistant Scale 6 or its equivalent OR Diploma in Purchasing and
supplies Chain Management with 6 years working experience 3 of which as Procurement/Supplies Assistant
Scale 6 or its equivalent. Should be registered with the relevant professional body and must be ICT
Competent.

related fields or holders of Diploma in Information Studies or other related fields with 3 years working as
