Community Sensitization Workshop

Kibabii University College hosts a group of 200 local community members on 23/10/2015 to educate them on key patient issues including Health, Environment, National Cohesion and Integration, Business, Agriculture and Constitutional and Legal issues. The 200 local community members were youth, women and people with disabilities drawn from all the wards in Kanduyi Constituency, Bungoma County

The University College has been organizing for regular outreach activites for the local community.

Tree Planting

The tree was done in the Commemoration of the 147 Student who died in Terrorist attack at Garissa University Collage.

The University College, in collaboration with the local community, and other stakeholders and collaborators including Bungoma County Government, Equity Bank, Barclays Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Kenya Commercial Bank, National Bank, National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA), among others organized for its First Tree Planting Day on 20th June, 2014. During this exercise, a total of 3,220 assorted tree seedlings were planted, 1,020 of which on the University College grounds, and the rest (2,200) in the neighbouring institutions. In fact, the 2,200 seedlings planted in the neighbouring institutions had been donated by the local community as part of University College – Local Community collaboration.

On this inaugural University College Tree Planting Day, Equity Bank donated a Cheque of KShs. 10,000 to the University College to boost Environmental Conservation efforts.

Environmental Clean-up Exercise

Due to increased human activity brought about by the establishment and unprecedented growth of the University College, the University College organized for an environmental clean-up exercise in and around its main campus on 20th October 2014. This was another University College – Local Community initiative to keep our environment clean. It covered the University College’s immediate environs and along Mayanja – Kanduyi stretch of Bungoma – Chwele road. It brought together many stakeholders and collaborators including Bungoma County Government, Standard Chartered Bank, Bungoma Chemist, Total Kenya, Bank of Africa, National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA), Bungoma West Chemist, Red Cross, Generations Hotel, Kims Kisika Ltd. Standard Media Group, local schools and community members among others.
